Biography:
Milan Milojicic is a Serbian violist whose playing combines introspective depth with vivid expressive range. As a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher, he has forged a distinctive artistic path shaped by a lifelong dedication to musical dialogue and curiosity. A member of the internationally renowned Minetti Quartett since 2011, he has appeared in some of the world’s leading halls — including the Wiener Musikverein, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, Berliner Philharmonie, and Palau de la Música Barcelona — and at festivals such as the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Mozartwoche Salzburg, Aldeburgh Festival, and Aix-en-Provence. As a guest principal violist, Milojicic has performed with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and Amsterdam Sinfonietta, among others. His chamber music partners include Fazıl Say, Kit Armstrong, Thomas Riebl, Sharon Kam, Till Fellner, and Nils Mönkemeyer. He studied with Thomas Riebl and Veronika Hagen at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and with Gérard Caussé at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. Encounters with Nobuko Imai, Ferenc Rados, Alfred Brendel, and members of the Hagen Quartett have left a lasting artistic imprint.
Milojicic teaches viola and chamber music at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he served for over a decade as assistant to Thomas Riebl. He also teaches at the Joseph Haydn Private University in Eisenstadt and gives regular masterclasses across Europe and the United States. His teaching is marked by clarity, openness, and a deep respect for individual artistic voice.
He performs on a fine Italian viola by Giovanni Pistucci, made in Naples in 1890.
