Biography:
Since 2018, he is Solo piccolo player of the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and the Filarmonica
della Scala.
He studied at the Conservatorio G. Cantelli in Novara with R. Montrucchio, before continuing his
studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and at the Zürcher Hochschule der
Künste. He has performed with the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Zurigo, the Orchestra Mozart,
the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the orchestras of the Teatro Carlo Felice, the Fondazione
Arena di Verona, the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, and the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, as well as with
the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, under the baton of distinguished conductors including K.
Petrenko, R. Chailly, Z. Mehta, V. Gergiev, D. Harding, F. Luisi, M.W. Chung, D. Gatti, and A.
Nelsons.
He received a Special Prize at the second edition (2013) of the Concorso Internazionale S.
Gazzelloni in the piccolo category. He has taken part in the recording of two CDs released by the
magazine FALAUT. In 2023, the album Il giardino dell’opera, a collection of unpublished operatic
fantasies for piccolo and piano recorded with pianist A. Magagni, was released by Movimento
Classical. In January 2026, Brilliant Classics released a CD featuring A. Vivaldi’s piccolo
concertos, performed in collaboration with the Orchestra Farnesiana.
In 2022, accompanied by I Virtuosi della Scala, he performed Vivaldi’s Concerto in C major, RV
443, at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza.
He teaches piccolo at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and at the course held at the Fondazione
Teatro San Domenico in Crema. He is regularly invited to give flute and piccolo masterclasses for
several Italian musical institutions.
